Adair goes to Europe

For the first time ever, Adair became a world traveller. This site documents her emails back to her family throughout the course of her stay. The plan: travel extensively through Italy, France, Sweeden, Austria and then spend a few weeks taking classes at Oxford University in Great Britain. It's a good life.

More about Amsterdam

Hey!! I just woke up from a much needed nap. Our flights didn't get cancelled and we actually made the 1:55 a.m. bus this morning to get back to Oxford by 3:45 a.m.
This EasyJet thing is really ghetto... you can only book online or at the airport I guess. There are no assigned seats, and I'm not sure about RyanAir but I hear they overbook, so you have to get there super early. It is definitely different, and I realized why it was so cheap. Of the 4 weekend trips we are taking, we are using EasyJet for two of them. EasyJet has already cancelled 2 flights... one leaving for Amsterdam and on coming back from Prague. I couldn't fix one of them until we got to the airport, kind of scary. So that was my flight situation.
Amsterdam was fun... the guys wanted to do a lot more than I thought they would. The first day we got there, we got in around 8:00 a.m. We had to wait on two of the guys who rebooked a flight at a different time though. I remembered the train station from coming with mom, but didn't remember how not so nice of a city it was. I mean, it was old. Our Hostel was on top of a bar, but there were cameras everywhere which helped with feeling secure. I guess I need to realize Hostels really aren't nice, just cheap... but not even so cheap anymore.
We went to the Heinekin brewery (which I sent a lovely video with Jenny, of course). We went to the Van Gogh museum (I sent yet another video), we went on a boat tour of the city, walked over to the floating chinese restaurant, watched all the soccer games at pubs (usually in our hostel), and walked all day, every day. I was able to meet up with Jenny and Katie, it was really nice to see them. We were so tired the first day, we all went to bed really early. They had some shopping there too, so many H&Ms everywhere.
Well, I picked up my books this morning and have sooooo much to catch up on. I have a paper due Thursday, should be fun.
I can't believe it's already July... I'm so sad I'm missing July 4th celebrations tomorrow. Eat lots of yummy food for me, please.
I think that's all....
Oh, yeah, it is extremely hot in England (according to them). It's got to be like 80 something and they are giving cautions about what to do... drink lots of water, get off the underground if you feel hot, etc. I'm like PEOPLE... it is 80 something degrees and there is a breeze, but what can I say. We freak out about Ice and Snow, they freak out about hot weather. It's just funny because I can picture it being over 90 degrees at home, hehe.
Well, love you all and miss you all. I'm off to study for now, but I'll try calling in a little bit. My dinner time is switched to 5:30 now instead of 6:30, just to let you know.
Hugs and Kisses!!!!!!
Love, Adair

Short Trip to Amsterdam

Although my hostel was in a pretty sketchy area and i was completely paranoid (even slept with my passport case on) we are just about to check out. Our plane leaves Amsterdam at 9:50 p.m. and I'll get back to Oxford by 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning if everything goes as planned.
Alright, well I'm off.
Love you all and miss you!
love, Adair
